I am a 9 year resident of Woodbridge Estates and the owner of O'Sheas Irish Pub which is located in the Woodbridge Estates neighborhood. We (O'Sheas Irish Pub) have been providing a fun and friendly atmosphere for the neighborhood (our family and friends) as well as all our guests that come to listen to the best in live entertainment on the weekends since 2011. When the demand for a patio was in need we built a patio for our neighborhood and all guests to enjoy in March of 2014. We have been operating in the same manner for 4.5 years and only within the 30 days have been receiving an un-nessessary amount of complaints about noise levels. We didn't understand why or how this could suddenly became an issue but soon discovered it was a new resident. We have been working with our friends at the City Of Hurst to resolve the issue and even provided the resident with my personal cell phone to call if he had any issues. The resident did call my cell phone on Saturday September 26, 2015 and I immediately went to his house to correct the situation. The DB level was exactly the same level it was prior to the band playing. How do we know this? We now record the DB level prior to all the bands performing to ensure we don't disturb our new neighbor. Since that night he has been calling the Hurst Police Department every Friday and Saturday and now the Hurst Police Department has no choice but to write citations because how the noise ordinance is written to which we feel is being abused by our new neighbor as we have never had this issue in the past. The new resident is demanding we change the way we run our business even though the DB level is exactly the same at his house if the band is playing or isn't playing. To make matters worse he has taken on the role to destroy my good name in a neighborhood that I have lived in for 9 years (he is a 30 day resident) by asking all neighbors to join his lynch mob. This isn't the first time he has had issues with noise as he admitted he moved from Bedford because of un-welcomed noise. We need your assistance to help keep your neighborhood bar running in the same manner we have for 4.5 years. We are working with the City Of Hurst to define a DB level so can ensure we stay within our legal sound levels. Please sign this petition to support "your neighborhood bar"!
