Who thought it would be a good idea to cut a tree's roots? Please leave the roots intact. I'd hate to hear that a tree with cut roots fell onto a park user!

He is not only cutting roots, he is also removing rocks from the trail. Next step would be to put pavement on the whole park. Get the F#%^* out of the park. I hope you get banned from enjoying that beautiful park.

Trees need roots and mountain biking involves challenges (e.g. roots). Don't like roots? The roads are smooth.

Trailbuilding/Maintenance 101.... YOU DO NOT REMOVE ROOTS!!! They are the life force of the trees they support and the work force in maintaining the earth around them.

Those roots create skills. There are plenty of smooth trails in Oleta for those that don't want roots.

The person or persons behind this terrorist act against the park should be prosecuted by the authorities. Any illegal activity within a state park should be seriously penalized. I hope that the Oleta River rangers and managment bring this person to the justice, so he spends some time behind the bars. People like this gives bad reputation to mountain bikers. Mr. I really hope that after reading this, you'll stop your unacceptable and illegal behavior.

If someone needs an easy trail they sould stick to novice sections. Isnt it against the law to cut a tree in a state park? The trees and roots are the best part of the trails @ oleta.

This needs to stop immediately! Chopping tree roots to cater a smoother trail is not the answer. It puts all trail users at danger by having trees with weakened foundation topple upon them. Can you imagine that lawsuit? How about that individual's life, God forbid it happens, changing for the worse all because one culprit decided on taking an axe to roots that he feels should not be there because he has not learned how to successfully ride over them. This is shameful and can ultimately cause the park to close if positive action is not taken.
