Developers want to demolish the heart of Old Ashburn!
They have submitted plans to knock down the historic old buildings and replace with dozens of condos and townhouses.
Not only would we lose our local history, we'd also further overload Ashburn Road, local schools and so on.
We need the Board of Supervisors to remove a loophole in the planning regulations that currently allows this.
The Public Hearing is at 6pm on Wednesday March 15th at the Loudoun County Goverment Center in Leesburg. Please attend and tell the Board of Supervisors to Save Old Ashburn!
You can also help by signing this petition and sharing with friends and neighbors.

Preserve this towns history! Old town Ashburn is the heart and soul of our community. Without it, we are just a grouping of cookie cutter houses and monstrous data centers. I am an Ashburn Farm resident and oppose destroying these homes.
Our ancestors were the original founders of Ashburn Presbyterian church. Our family has been here since all of A was farm land and dirt roads. It would be a shame to have old Ashburn rd/Hayes Rd turn into more than the 2 lanes and condo complex in that quaint neighborhood.
I grew up in Ashburn and every week would drive down this road to go to the fire department to see my dad. I would be so terribly upset to see it go. I think the buildings should be restored. As a community I think we could all pitch in and help.
Historical zoning was not designed for high density housing. I would personally welcome smart, modern, well thought out development in Old Ashburn, but 50 condos jammed into 2 acres off Jenkins Lane is insanity. The RC zoning should be capped at 4 units per acre.
Old Ashburn doesn't have the infrastructure to support this type of high occupancy development. Lack of sidewalks, above ground power lines, challenging intersection at Hay/Ashburn for EMS. Plus all surrounding homes are single family.
Leave the Old Ashburn Area alone!!!! The 4/5 house that was newly build.. It's an eye sore.. not selling.
Fight for your community! Good luck to those who grew up there it's your home.

I think it's very unfortunate that the lovely little church was torn down. Don't think the school is half as interesting! Would like to see the big lavender house saved/restored, too. Several on Ashburn Road have charm worth preserving.
