Hello friends, My name is Denise Jaeckel, and I'm a SAG-AFTRA member who has represented fellow members in Ohio-Pittsburgh. I am writing you today in a completely unofficial capacity, as a concerned fellow unionist. Now that merger has been accomplished, many changes are being considered by the union. One of these changes includes eliminating staff and brick-and-mortar offices outside of LA and NY, including Ohio-Pittsburgh. With no staff to stop them, the agents and employers will have free reign to make all work non-union. Members are already being forced to call LA for help with Local issues in an attempt to "streamline" services. All communication with members must be vetted through LA first. They have taken our autonomy and our voice. We must take it back. Tell LA we deserve local staff who understand our local issues. We will not let them marginalize us without a fight. This issue will be determined THIS WEEKEND, April 19-21, at the SAG-AFTRA Plenary in LA. If you agree, please sign this petition. I will bring the results with me to Plenary, and fight for you there.
