The folks participating are hunters. A non hunter isn't going to run out to get a license just to be in the contest. It's a ridiculous bill designed as another step in the direction of confiscation.

Hunters contribute millions of dollars in revenue eeach year to NY State and billions to the overall economy. Is this really a smart move economically?

My teenage boys love to hunt with my husband and their uncle , it is truly a family tradition and it’s great bonding for family members and furry family members ,

Contestants of trials and derbys bring in more money to local businesses for accommodations, meals and supplies, as well as money to the state for licenses & fees, than any bird watcher or hiker ever will. And in some cases the local & state governments have to provide costly resources to go find some of these unprepared hikers.
