I come to North Yorkshire on holiday to walk and to see wildlife, I do not want to see gun men killing off an important part of our eco-system. You are doing a fantastic job with red squirrels, please do not destroy badgers, they are not to blame.

We should learn from FMD - vaccinate, don't exterminate.

Neither North Yorkshire County Council nor Harrogate Borough Council can afford to fund such a numbskull notion! Even we mere mortals can see how ridiculous it is...and that's not even touching on the sheer brutality of this idiocy! If DEFRA wants to improve the long-term health of livestock, get some serious legislation in place to improve the hygeine and general welfare of livestock farming and punish farmers who refuse to comply. The condition of some of the livestock in our area is disgusting, with dirty, lame and sick animals (of which I have photos and video footage)! Our wildlife all ready suffers at the hands of unregulated shooting and hunting (the laws of which also need to be strengthened) with idiots travelling to rural areas (often within residential pockets/areas) to take potshots at anything that moves! We dot NoT need more idiots doing the same to the remaining badgers in the name of a flawed science made up by Noddy and friends from Toytown!

Not only is the cull inhumane, it is inefficient, unscientific and a total waste of tax payers money.

It is a National Disgrace killing Badgers. Scientific Evidence is stacked against it. STOP killing Badgers & vaccinate all Badgers & Cattle.

I work in Harrogate, North Yorkshire and I really hope that North Yorkshire County Council appreciate that science proves culling is inhumane, inefficient and a waste of time, money and effort. Thank you x

I support the need for the available vaccine against a cull with no scientific evidence to support it

There is no need to kill these innocent animals, when it is quite easy to provide them with the vaccine which is already available. Look at the facts, it's just pointless violence towards these animals, there really is no need.

Please don't do it.

It does not work. Badgers are not the problem. Get educated instead of believing everything you are fed by the tories and their friends

I don't want badger blood on my hands at all, never mind for a POINTLESS reason.

Stop this pointless cull. IT won't save cattle , it won't stop cows spreading Btb to other cows. This is just an excuse for the mindless slaughter of the British wildlife. STOP THE CULL.

This disgrace is an INTERNATIONAL concern. The unique wildlife of the UK is one of the things that brings in foreign travelers ... and their money.

although we are not a high risk area i urge the council to follow a vacination programme to protect not only our lovely badgers but the cows too,

It would be far better to vaccinate badgers rather than attempting culls which are not fit for purpose and cost so much money.

I strongly believe that culling badgers is not the right way to try and control bovine Tb. It has been proven to be ineffective and very cruel, also scientists now are saying it is not a suitable solution. Please, please do not try this in North Yorkshire.

This cull is cruel, unnecessary and it has yet to be proven that badgers do carry the TB virus.I think we as humans do more than enough damage to our environment without now turning the tables on the wildlife.
