Our kids deserve better

I am a mom of three. Our family has spent nearly $15,000 since September to purchase homeschool materials, pay a teacher to help my kindergartener, tutoring and emotional therapy support. We moved to our home for the schools. Parents 15 minutes down the road have not had to cover these costs as their schools are in sessions. The governments decisions regarding this has deeply harmed my family.

Save our children! Save our families!

It is time for kids to be back in the classroom.

Please help our families survive where the LEAs are falling short.

We need choices.

I think that disbursement of funds directly to families/ students is the correct thing to do since in person learning is not happening. Children’s learning and development should not be held up.

Kids need in school learning

We need an option for in person learning!

While we understand that NC is concerned for it’s people and appreciate all you do with our children, the schools need to open. Us parents are working and having to find options for our children which is counterproductive with what you are trying to accomplish by forcing schools to stay shut. Either open them, or give us money to put our kids in school elsewhere that is open.

I understand the plight of the teachers, however, just like healthcare workers, teachers are essential and IN PERSON school is necessary for many of our children. Giving us the opportunity to select in person education and then removing our opportunity to make any long term plans for our children's education is proving beyond difficult for parents and troublesome for our kids.

Took my children out of WCPSS and moved to private. We will not return if Wake County continues to show this level of incompetence and disregard for children’s well-being and education.

Kids need to be in school! More damage is being done by keeping them home, than the risk of sending them. Children are being physically and emotionally and physically abused. Their are so much stress on parents and the students trying to learn from home. Kids are falling behind. Enough is enough! If people don’t want to send their kids to school, that is their choice. Have The teachers who don’t want to go back into the classroom, teach those students who’s families feel the same. I know there are way more teachers and faculty who WANT to be in school than not. Save the kids!!

We need an option for traditional school after ten months!

In addition, teachers who refuse to work should have their pay suspended until they follow the science and come back to work. That could offset the funding our students need right now.

Extra money to send my child to private school would be amazing especially since they have been open since August with no issues. Horrible that a teacher union has dictated the life of these children
