The Doherty Expansion project threatens to impact public resources: hiking trails, park user/maintenance access, park user parking, Nordic skiing beginner and intermediate trails, heritage beech trees, 1890s historic retaining wall, and public green space. There are better options than the destruction of historic and heavily used parkland.

This petition seeks to protect Newton Hill at Elm Park and all of its green space public resources into perpetuity and calls on the Worcester City Government to immediately create a conservation restriction on the park's remaining 40 acres to protect the land from any further development or encroachment.

Worcester taxpayers are filing a class action lawsuit against the city to prohibit the construction of the Doherty High School project on protected public parkland.
