I am a frequent player of this course and value the green space as a balance to the concrete jungle next to the airport and freeway. It’s also an open space that welcomes visitors and residents into Newport Beach and keeps home values up.
We need this public course for everyone to stay open

This would be a sad day for this community. The course is used by so many that would otherwise not be able to afford this type of hobby. Not to mention the staff and instructors who make their living here.

Golf is my way to relax I live on Anniversary Lane that runs along the golf course we dont need any more housing

Golf is my therapy and this brings not only physical but mental health. Golf builds character and community through sportsmanship unlike any other game. Golfers are enthusiasts and fall into a roller coaster of emotions who their biggest competitor and judge are themselves. The amount of impact this golf range makes on community can never be replaced by the square footage available for dense homes. A big downside to this development is more congestion with lack of planning for traffic infrastructure. So far, the ROI of this development does not out weigh the current impact to Newport Beach and surrounding communities. Many out of state corporate golfers choose Newport Beach golf range.

Let’s also not forget Newport Beach golf course closure will effect not only its customers but at least 6 golf pros who will lose their place of business at the range, Steve Carfano’s golf shop will close (7 employees), the grounds keeping crew, range and office (12-15
employees), the restaurant and snack bar (15 employees or more).
