Gwynedd County Council is considering closing NEUADD DWYFOR (PWLLHELI CINEMA) and a decision will be made by the end of MARCH 2016.
This superb little cinema/theatre (400 seats) brings Live Streamed, high-quality events to our rural area, including ballet from The Bolshoi, musicals and dramas from London and other cities, as well as films.
It also hosts drama and music by local and national touring companies and groups.
Pwllheli has many tourists during the summer and, for them, it is an addition tourist attraction.
If you value this facility and do not want to make a round trip of 80+ miles to access what is at present available in our area then PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION and share it with your friends and other interested parties. A letter to them voicing your views would be useful.
We have to let our councillors, both at local and County level, know how we feel about this. If we sit back and do nothing then we could lose what is valuable to us and to the town of Pwllheli.

we just hit 1,000 signatures and i am honestly stunned by how many people care about saving this place. this really shows the council that our community wont just let them close the doors without a fight.

i cant believe how many people have joined this fight already. its honestly wild to see everyone coming together to save our local cinema. we have real momentum now so lets keep the pressure on.

ive been spending my time emailing local council members and showing them just how many people rely on this theatre. hearing your stories about what this place means to the community has been really eye opening and gives me a lot of confidence going into these talks.

Other libraries in Llyn are under threat.You MUST keep this one open as it will serve the whole peninsula. Older people cannot travel to C'fon or Bangor for films and theatre. Penrhyn and Porthmadog people come to Pwllheli for these facilities. A very wide area is served.
We only have two cinemas in a 30 mile radius, one at Pwllheli and one at Harlech. The Pwllheli cinema is also an old theatre, has lots of history and shows live performances in summer. We do not want another cinema lost; we already had a closure of Porthmadog cinema.
Love visiting this Theatre, it's an asset to the town. I love the fact that when you go it is always full of local people and in the holiday period is mixed with locals and tourists. Would be very disappointed if this facility no longer existed.
Please do not close this attraction as it is a very important place for us locals. There are not many places poorer families can afford to take their whole family for entertainment, this provides a fabulous variety of education and fun for my family.
Having worked here for some time in the past it would be a shame to close this establishment. Why spend so much money in Caernarfon to have 2 screens when there is one already, Gwnedd Council need to realise there are other towns in Gwynedd
Not everyone has a car to travel elsewhere to a cinema. It’s nice to have a cinema that is local. Hands off our cinema. Keep Pwllheli cinema open always.

Please don't close neuadd dwyfor! It provides Pwllheli locals and vistors an opportunity to watch new and often classic films, local school plays and numerous other entertainment ventures. Closing the hall down would only draw locals and visitors away from the town!
