Every village needs a Post Office and a pharmacy, this building has been both. WHen Blackthorn pharmacy opened another chemist opened on Coronation Parade in Hamble so it is possible for these premises to remain a chemist just need somebody else to run it!!

This is a vital part of our community with our It so many vulnerable people will be lost and unable to access the hamble based chemist. This will also add to our already jam packed roads and cause more pollution!

This chemist cannot go. It’s my go to place for advice without going to the doctor and the items they stock are so very varied and random I never leave without buying something! I now live in Hamble and still always come to this one.

I have multiple sclerosis, my medication gets delivered here, near to my home. I work at Revitalise a disabled respite where guest visit, and also can get their medication, pads and essential needs.

From what i hear, the owners wife is making him close it so they can sell the blackthorn at a higher price! Shame on the owner

The NHS encourage you to seek advice from your local pharmacist in order to alleviate the strain on GPs but chemists are closing left, right and center. Having the chemist in Netley is crucial for not just the elderly but for the community... a friendly face, confidence in talking to someone you’ve grown to know and a welcoming environment that isn’t just like a waiting room and one in one out! Not everyone is able to travel and this will just place pressure on those who need support and even other chemists! Expecting loyal customers to take their custom to Blackthorne is simply not feasible and shouldn’t be another stress added to someone who is already on medication!
Please sign if you use/have used this lovely little chemist and want to secure its placement for all it’s lovely hard working employees!!!! It’s all well and good saying they have been offered jobs at Blackthorne when that is not suitable for everyone!

Signing this petition on behalf of myself and my Grandmother who has lived in Netley Village all her life for the past 78 years. Regularly uses this pharmacy as it’s conveniently located and within walking distance from her property. Closing this would not work for the long time residents in Netley Abbey

The comment regarding staff being offered alternative employment has no relevance to this petition. 'For the record' the staff were told on the 2nd April and instructed not to divulge this information. Also 'for the record' not all staff have been offered alternative employment at Blackthorn.

This pharmacy looks after the villagers and always has done, it's absolutely disgusting that closing it was even a thought. I worked there for many years and know how important it is to the community and I am furious

For the record all staff have been offered alternative employment at Blackthorn and have known that the site was potentially closing since 11th April.
