Great club that shows true commitment and passion in everything they do as well as teaching young people essential skills in life such as motivation and determination to succeed. The gym is the reason my little brother is going to become world champion one day, hence it would be a shame to see it close down.

This is a great place for communities to get together. It helps young children and adults to be off the streets and communicate with each other instead of social media.

Clubs like this should be saved. It keeps kids off the streets. Stops kids joining Gangs. Stops Peer Presure. Give young people respect and discipline.

I boxed at Nechells from the age of 10. I have a 40 year association withe the club and regularly go back for training sessions to keep fit and have taken my children too. The dedication of all of the trainers, who volunteer their free time to help the community, is second to none. I went on to become a national champion and represent Nechells, Birmingham & the Midland Counties on many occasions.
Birmingham City council should support the important work carried out by the club. Many of it's users are not boxers, just ordinary people who have no where else to go. They use the facilities, make friends and keep fit. Come Birmingham City council. Take a closer look and you'll see the balance is right and it really adds up. It can't always be about money. There are lots of kids at the club working out instead becoming obese. The community is deprived I'm sure this move will not be welcomed widely.

My son started attending this club last year. The passion and amazing dedication of Ernie, Mark, Derek, the family and other trainers is remarkable. This is a true community hub and the council must consider how they can keep it open. So many young people learn discipline from attending, often arriving without it. They learn respect for their community and to look after each other as well as being able to keep fit and off the streets. Please save the Nechells ABC and keep this community asset doing great work.

This club is in an area where a lot of local kids attend. There isn't many local facilities available for these youths. Closing this place down would have a detrimental affect of these youngsters. The next nearest place that offers something similar is two to three miles away and I can't see the locals going that far. This club and community centre has served the local community for over 60 years and has been a place where a lot of the community would meet up for sports, meeting, parties and many functions that affect the locals. The people that work in this centre are very caring and loyal to the community. This centre is the central point for most people that live locally and serves the community well. It cannot be closed down.
