We visit the dam regularly with our son for picnics and to enjoy the waterfall and wildlife. I've heard so many describe the area as a treasure.

I grew up nearby in Dover and have lived in the TVL most of my life. This area around the South Natick Dam is one of the prettiest areas in the town. Please do what is needed to dave it.

Beautiful outdoor spaces are to be cherished, not eliminated. Do not remove this dam thereby damning the rest of us to a kayak-less summer.

It isn’t bad or “broke”, so fix it and retain what has been a fine natural enough landscape habitat that mutually benefits both the creatures of the land -and air…
and us!
BTW: Native people’s of all places and ages have manipulated water courses for eons. So the notion that this dam removal is such an honorable and restorative thing is quite dubious on the whole.

What exactly do you mean by “native history” and “our history”? The Nipmuc Nation was here well before the arrival of White colonists and they have requested that the dam be removed. Is Indigenous history not “our history”? Is “native history” = “White history”?

It’s great to see that you want to save our planet. Rather than wait for God to do it for us, we have an opportunity to do the right thing now. Removing the dam is one step toward restoring the health of the river ecosystem. Now that’s something we can say Amen to!
