The dam, and it's surrounding parks, is a unique place enjoyed by people from many parts of the state. I wonder haw fish could swim up the shallow river in the summer without poached!
The dam is very special, please save it.

If the Natick dam is removed, and the river is returned to the natural flow, will beavers be allowed to return to this natural river? If not why not?

As a commuter to Needham for work, I drive past the dam daily and always admire this corner of natural history. It would be very disappointing to see an entire removal of the dam versus the removal of necessary tress and dam repair, especially if this would bring the dam into compliance; not to mention the harmful ecological effects it would cause for species who call the river home.

The Dam is one of the remaining highlights of Natick. We can not let it go. It is charming and a bright spot in Natick.

While I appreciate your concern, does your training as a wildlife rehabber include river ecosystems? I did not see anything in the curriculum that suggested that is the case. Please do not overextend your expertise to areas outside your domain. Thanks!

Please do NOT remove the dam - too huge an impact ecologically to the entire river, not just in Natick - up and down! Please find another alternative to removal!

I’m a MA wildlife Rehabilitator and am concerned about the effects this change will bring to the animals who make their homes along the Charles. Please make as few changes as possible to keep the River healthy.
