Dover resident (formerly of South Natick). We love the dam, and would like to see it preserved or repaired.

How is it that people who do not reside in Natick decide what happens to the dam. If in fact the select board decided quickly to avoid a fine, there should be repercussions..dragging your feet on important historic decisions is not what you were elected to do. Something doesn’t smell right here…

Removing the dam will result in massive water loss in the river in upstream towns and destroy the delicate and peaceful ecosystem that has been cultivated for over 250 years since the dam was first installed. It will affect numerous towns, people and organizations with deleterious effects.

if we are really in an age of helping one another and helping the planet, then it is important that everyone considering the removal of the dam, be reminded that connection to History ensures we dont forget where and who we came from and connection to Nature is the only way to ensure we protect it. Nothing good comes from the flavor of the day political agendas. Those never are truly about the people or the earth. They are about money and power. It’s time to listen to what the people are saying they need and what they want, and give it to them for once.

I grew up in Natick and have fond memories of the Charles River snd the dam in South Natick. It saddens me to think of its destruction.

How about if we spend hard earned town money on repairing our historic and beloved damn instead of catering to crimaliens now that we are a Sanctuary Town? Duh.......

After being an initial supporter of the dam removal, I now support keeping it as it's too big of a town asset to tear down. Too iconic, too beautiful.

Grew up in South Natick. The dam was a peaceful childhood refuge for me.

This dam is a huge part of my childhood and part of natick. It would be a travesty to get rid of it
