We gave been involved in raising show pigs for 20+ years...... The pictures and evidence does not resemble a dog attack to me... More like two pigs fighting with each other. The pig owner is out of her mind asking g for $45,000 replacement value for Maybe $10,000 worth of pigs.. And that estimate is a HUGE stretch! Save these dogs!

This is just not fair! The dogs are innocent. It is not their fault and not even proven that they even killed these pigs. The woman with the pigs is asking so $45,000???? Something is up with that. There needs to be an investigation to first prove that these dogs and not the owner or some other animal kill these pigs. Something is up with this story, plus these pigs could have defended themselves against these dogs.

This is not these dogs fault. Also the owner of the pig's should have kept her pigs in a safe and secure area. If she really cared so much for these pigs why would she leave them unsupervised when any predator could have entered the barn and killed them. There is no proof that these dogs killed the pigs. they could have went into the barn smelling the already dead pigs and chased a coyote away. Also these pigs could have killed these dogs. This doesn't make sense. The dogs had no blood on them???Something is fishy and this needs to be investigated. These dogs are not aggressive. There is no reason to kill them. This woman wants $45,000???? Now I know something is not right.

This is an antiquated law. I understand the dogs should not have been out but what is wrong with letting her pay for reparations. There is no reason the dogs must be put down especially when they were not seen actually doing the kill. Just cause they were there did not mean that they killed. This does not make sense why the pig owner would not take the value of the pig and it does not make sense why the pig owner decides the dogs fate. There seems to be missing information where this whole story lies. Also if the pig owner did not see the actually killing then there is no proof and no proof should mean no kill. Plus where is mercy and could this not have been an accident or a coyote and the dgos came in afterward?

I really hope that the 2 dogs will be saved.. I really don't see what the big deal is I mean pigs are killed for Bacon anyway. There's plenty of other stupid pigs out there that this heartless pig owner can go and pick up.

This is ridiculous... I feel bad for the kids who's 4 h project it was, but they'd sell them to be butchered as soon as fair was over. Everyone makes mistakes..so fine her for her dogs getting loose and let her buy new pigs.. for the pug owner to not be ok with almost 10k pay off.. what a greed snot bag...karma

In an article farmers and 4-H professionals suggest their deaths were not caused by canines, but from other sows. In photographs, the wounds appear to be consistent with scratches inflicted by pig hooves. No bites or tooth marks are present, and the flesh is not torn as it would likely be if dogs were to blame the article said. It doesn't seem to me there was much of an investigation.
