The funding has been restored and our production can finally move forward as planned. I am completely drained but relieved that the work we built will continue to exist for these young people. We have to stay alert to ensure these cuts are not considered again in the future.

Final supporters
Music Theatre for Youth are devastated to announce that we have received a 100% funding cut from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. MT4Uth is a charity that has made a huge impact of many young peoples live in Ireland! The amount of effort put in to build and develop something that GAVE more than it received being thrown down the drain is heart wrenching. The wonderful messages on Facebook from all the people having come through or having been touch by MT4Uth beeninspirationaland made us think that if a petition was started could we make a difference?! SO here we go! Let's see what we can do. I am asking you ALL for your help in this task! Even if the charity does have to close its doors lets make sure the name stays alive and people know how much it meant to all of us!!
MT4Uth had amazing plans for this year, producing Sweeney Todd with Jayne Wisener from Tim Burton's movie, Andrew Corcoran from the UK tour of Wicked, and Polly Bennett from the London 2012 Opening Ceremony. We have had ten amazing years of operation, produced amazing work, and presented top class musical theatre training to thousands of young people across Ireland, North and South. If we could help raise the funds to do this production and go out on a high, it would give us all the chance to give MT4Uth therecognitionit deserves!! COME ON, Lets make a change!

The momentum behind this feels overwhelming and it proves how much this organization means to so many of you. I am exhausted by this fight but seeing this level of support keeps me moving forward.

Performing arts are a reflection of life. The life skills these young people will pick up being involved in MT4Uth will be life changing for them with repercussions for their communities for the rest of their lives. It is a disgrace to cut their funding. Shane on you Arts Council of Northern Ireland - this is precisely what you are there to fund!!
MT4Uth played a massive role in my life and it should live on. In respect of the late Vernon Mound, don't take away what he helped create
Simply the best musical theatre company offering training to talented young people from all over Ireland.The experiences my daughter has had with these wonderful people - both staff and participants have med a huge difference to her life and encouraged her to follow her dreams!
For the last ten years MT4Uth has provided vital training in Musical Theatre for thousands of young people throughout Northern Ireland and many of its alumni have gone on to the entertainment business which helps to generate a phenomenal income for the country. In 2012, I had the pleasure of guest conducting a live performance of MT4Uth alumni members at the opening ceremony of the Word Police and Fire Games which was relayed throughout the world by the BBC. MT4Uth has never been the recipient of a ridiculously high grant but what it has had has allowed it to give a wealth of experience to all young people and to further develop those who have a special talent in performance. MT4Uth is unique – it needs its £30k. This is small change in the whole equation.
MT4uth is the ONLY beneficial training ground in Northern Ireland for young aspiring artists. It has been a major stepping stone in the lives of a lot of now professional actors from Northern Ireland. Many of whom have been already forced to move elsewhere for sufficient work in the field. The absence of MT4uth in Northern Ireland will evidently cut the option of becoming a professional performer for a lot of people. It would be a great shame as Northern Ireland is full of aspiring talent with no opportunity to grow.

MT4Uth was one of the most valuable projects in my training at an early age. Without this company I wouldn't be where I am or who I am today
