This was handled very badly. AISD requires us to participate on all levels of our childs school, yet we did not get an opportunity for input on this very important matter

Wow. We purposefully moved out of AISD because of the budget issues that impacted our oldest when she was in school. This event and how it was handled confirms that we made the right decision for our younger children. SMH.

Like others have said, we have always trusted Patton to do the right thing for the students and staff. The decision to pull a 2nd grade teacher, a talented/enthusiastic one at that, at this point in the semester is disheartening.

Please keep Mrs Demos in 2nd grade!!!! My daughter is extremely upset knowing that she will no longer be in Mrs Demos's class. My daughter cried telling us the drastic changes. It simply broke my heart to know that my daughter will no longer be in her class. When I learned that my daughter was going to attend Mrs Demos's class at the beginning of the year we were so happy and excited... but to our surprise she has been taken away from my daughter and classmates in an abrupt haste way. No consideration in how this may affect our children. So please I implore that we keep Mrs Demos's as our second grade teacher.
Thank you,
Elizabetta's mom

Why would they do this at this point? I hope Ms. Demos' class continues. My daughter really loves her teacher and her class.

Miss Demos is a wonderful influence on our children and should continue to be her teacher. Resolving budgeting errors should not take precidence over our children’s well being.

Not only do I disagree with this decision, the way it was handled was unorganized and not in the best interest of the children. Pulling a teacher out of class in the middle of the day to dissolve her class was inappropriate. This should have taken place after class hours when the school children would not see all of the teachers upset with this decision. The reasoning as to why Ms. Demos was selected has varied. Admin should have their stories straight prior to the announcement. 2nd grade is losing a qualified educator which is a disservice to our children.

My husband and I are extremly disappointed with this decision. This is very unfair to Ms. Demos and the children. This is going to directly impact our daughter's learning she has a long relationship with Ms. Demos as so do many of the other students. We have trusted Patton over the last years to make right discussions and I can honestly say this is wrong on so many levels. I feel that there can be Accommodations made for Ms Demos and our students the remainder of the year. I would hope Patton Administration would take our Children into consideration

Who would you disband a true professional's class? She's the greatest, organized, original. Why deny her talents and demote her? Her 2nd grade class is not winning here.

Even though this decision will impact my child minimally, I don't feel that any child or teacher should face unnecessary stress from this change. It is too far into the school year for a change like this to be made. Take on the necessary effort and expense and hire a new teacher for Pre-K.

I feel disbanding Ms Demos' Second Grade class and forcing the children and their teacher undo stress and emotional upheaval is not acceptable.
