Save Ms. Cheng

Every student is one good teacher away from becoming a success story. Ms. Cheng is a true paragon of educators in that she is not only incredibly knowledgeable in a gamut of sciences but she is passionate about and effective at reaching students. She worked with me personally in the context of after school CAPT practice sessions my sophomore year and was one of the coaches for the school's science team this year. In those small after school sessions I learned more from Ms. Cheng than I did with many of my semester-long teachers. In addition, her in-class encouragement motivated a number of students from all levels of science to join the team this year, fostering one of the greatest turnouts in scientific participation Barlow has ever seen. Teachers like Ms. Cheng are incredibly rare and should be valued if not venerated for their impact on the school's environment and the lives of the students. Hopefully Barlow will not make the mistake of letting such an effective educator go.

My son Geordie feels Ms Cheng is one of the best teachers he has ever had at Joel Barlow High School.

Please don't get rid of Ms. Cheng or Dean Garrity they both make my high school life fun and nice

Ms cheng has finally been the first science teacher i have actually learned something and understood it. She should not be cut everyone loves her. She always makes the students happier or make them participate that no other biology or science teacher would! Save ms cheng!!

She works wonders and inspires students to achieve their personal best! This is not right! Please support all of our teachers!

Ms. Cheng was the best, kindest, and most understanding science teacher, let alone teacher, that I ever had. She made every student respect her and want to work for her, and never raised her voice once or threatened anything, which is a technique common at Barlow. Don't fire one of the best hires you've ever made.

My daughter loves Ms. Cheng. She really cares about her students and takes the time to get to know each & every student. Losing Ms. Cheng would be an utter tragedy.

I do not know her personally but have heard she is great and think she deserves to stay

Ms. Cheng is the best teacher I have had in all my years of education. Perhaps, teachers who do not do their work or are not passionate should be cut, rather than teachers who are in love with the art of teaching.

I love miss cheng I finally understand what I am learning, please let her continue teaching me. She makes Barlow a better place.

We need our teachers!! Figure a different way to cut cost!!!! Our children's education depends on our teachers.....

As an alumni, it's great to see kids passionate about their teachers. This says something about Ms. Cheng!

Ms.Cheng has made my daughter love science again after 4.5 years of feeling like she wasn't good at it when she actually is! Why are we cutting academics and yet we just put in this new stadium?!

My daughter loves Ms. Cheng and has learned so much from her. Cutting teachers is a poor money saving decision. Please make cuts elsewhere.
