This lady has put her heart and soul into W&L and we need to keep her here. Not only did she teach my son French, she taught him do much more. He was in the ruriteens with her and participated in many of those activities. We owe it to our students to keep great teachers like her at this school.

I've been very lucky to have had Mrs. Smith coach me on the forensics team for 2 years. She is one of the few people in the building whom you can always count on to have a smile on her face. Her positivity goes a LONG way in a place like W&L. We simply cannot lose her.

I had the pleasure of having Mrs. Smith all 4 years of high school as well as for a ruri-teen leader. She's a great asset to W&L and it would be a shame to the student body and community to lose her!

Mrs. Smith is a dedicated teacher. She looks at the whole students' well being, not just the academic side. W & L would lose much more than an instructor. They would lose part of the school's family.

Mrs. Smith has given her full heart to teaching for 8 years now at Washington and Lee High School. She has devoted so much time and effort for the sake of her students. She is dedicated above and beyond what is necessary of her job title. From being the French Teacher, to Drama teacher and director, to Forensics coach, to the Ruriteens Club and the community Ruritans, to assisting with Prom, to being devoted to her family though miles away, and to her friends of which she would be by their side for any emergency, or celebration. Her heart is in service to her school and community, and most importantly to her students.
