I have two boys at Paul Revere. The older one was taught by Mr. Carnine last year; the younger one is in his English and History class this year. Mr. Carnine is an outstanding and dedicated teacher. I recently had the opportunity to accompany my son during his school day. There was a time when my son would not volunteer to answer questions in class, but in Mr. Carnine's class, my son was standing at the front of the room confidently answering two dozen questions on Roman Geography. I was thrilled by how much he has grown as a student and I want to thank Mr. Carnine for this. Mr. Carnine allows students to have lunch in his classroom, providing a welcoming environment to the students. My son wanted to eat in Mr. Carnine's room that day, so I went to get my lunch, thinking there would only be a few kids in the room. When I returned, I was surprised to see the room was filled to capacity. The kids all seemed very happy and they were of ALL races and grades. Mr. Carnine realized there was no place for me to sit. He insisted I take HIS chair and he went to find another chair for himself. I am deeply saddened at how this accusation must be making him feel. I am relieved to hear that students from the eighth grade class are saying that these accusations are false.

Many of these accusations were completely false and I think we should try to save an amazing teacher.

Mr. Carnine is truly an amazing teacher! My daughter had him as a teacher in 6th grade and she loved him. These accusations are false!! He does not condone racial intolerance.

Both my daughter and son had the great good fortune to land in Mr. Carnine’s class for history/English in 6th grade. We found him to be an extraordinary, dedicated teacher, who shares his passion for history with his students and was the first to ignite my children’s own interest in the subject. They came home most days talking about all the things they had learned in his class. Unlike some teachers who do little more than read from textbooks, Mr. Carnine actively taught, delivering lectures that excited the students, challenging them to think and articulate their own ideas and understanding of the world. He assigned the students unusual, thought-provoking projects -- and then spent scores of hours carefully grading and critiquing each and every one in his beautiful handwriting. My husband and I would marvel at this level of commitment and feel grateful that Revere had such a gifted teacher, and even more grateful that our children ended up in his class. His removal from the classroom is a terrible loss for the school and for all of his students, past, present, and future.

My daughter has this teacher. He's never said anything inappropriate to her . If anything he has taught her alot . Please LAUSD reconsider your decision and don't punish this wonderful teacher . My daughter has all good things to say about him . And my daughter is very picky . Save Mr Carnine . Where is the evidence that he is racist . That's bologna!!

Carnine was my former history teacher and I can say, without a doubt, he was the most compassionate and amazing teacher I have probably ever had. He's positively influenced me and has taught me not only world history, but also how to treat other people. It is absolutely disgusting how the media has distorted these events and antagonized him. What has happened to Mr. Carnine is absolutely abhorring in is its entirety and something needs to be done to save Mr. Carnine's job and reputation.

If the defendant was teaching about racial stereotypes I highly doubt that the racial claims and slurs must've been examples.

Great and caring teacher. Have a child in his class now and another child who had him 2 years ago. Never had any reason to think or believe he was anything but a great and caring teacher.
