My daughter had Mr Carnine last year, she is African American and says there is NO way she can imagine Mr Carnine saying these racial comments.

Mr Carnine is the most compassionate exempliary teacher I have ever met. He is an inspiration to my child and Our s hook needs more teachers like him. He and Mr Hernandez are considered the dream team at our school I have had an opportunity to speak to a few students that were present in his class on the day of the incident and they claimed mr Carnine did not make racial comments he was only trying to point out the struggles that existed then I think this young lad and her parents that accused him owe Mr Carnine a public apology and must insist that the district reinstate him ASAP

I am currently in mr. Carnines class for 8th grade history and I look forward to his class at the end of the day. I know that the girl who accused mr. Carnine of being rasist had just transferred into his class and did not understand his style of teaching and his humor. Her accusations were also out of context. I doubt that any teacher who would replace him would be anywhere near as good of a teacher as he is.

I was lucky enough to have Mr. Carnine teach my son and my daughter and they both say that he was one of their favorite teachers that they learned the most from and whose words and ideas are still with them years later. In fact they often both bring up things he taught him at the dinner table. He never said or did anything racist. My children have jewish, muslim, and christian roots so they are by nature open-minded and in tune with what constitutes a racist remark. In fact, Mr. Carnine thought of the most interesting projects to promote and encourage personal creative and ethnic input into all of his teachings on ancient civilizations. He made my children learn more about the world around him and exposed them to more ideas and societies than any teacher they have ever had. He opened their eyes and minds to the ancient world they came from and allowed them to apply it to their own lives by having them write an ancient front page of a newspaper, etc. He encouraged students to work together on these projects promoting interaction between students and allowing them to learn from each other and learn to work together. My daughter worked on joint projects with many of the different children in the class which was an amazing experience for her. There is no way a teacher like that could have meant any harm. If he made any of those comments, they were clearly taken out of context. In fact, it is my opinion that he probably intended the opposite effect.

I have known Mrr. Carnine for three years, and he has always smiled at me when I see him. From hearing about what has happened, I would never in the world think that he said those things. He has always been an inspiration to me and I don't know what I or Paul Revere would do without him.

I've heard of Mr. Carnine from my friends and I have never known a teacher more praised and loved than he is. Even from walking into his room, you can see that he really cares about his job and the students inside the room. I really hope for the best because racism is a sensitive subject.
