From what I understand, Mr. Carnine was teaching his class about racial stereotypes, and in so doing, had to use certain racially-charged language and damaging ideas that he in no way supports, but was using only to educate about our past and present, as a history teacher does. To misunderstand, twist or distort this usage, and to turn it against such an outstanding teacher as Mr Carnine, is cruelly ironic, terribly sad, and wrong.

My daughter loved Mr. Carnine. She became interested in history for the first time in his class. When he found out we were travelling to Italy this past summer he took the time to send us a detailed letter with loads of information. He is a passionate teacher, one that was able to light a fire of interest in a middle schooler. Not an easy feat! As for the allegations, I am multi-racial and very sensitive to such issues. While I have hard rumors of inappropriate remarks by other teachers Mr. Carnine has never been associated with

Mr. Carnine's class was the highlight of my middle school experience and one of my favorite teachers of all time. This is terrible and I'm appalled that he would be accused of such a thing.

Both of my daughters were in Mr Carnine's class at Revere MS and he was one of their favorite teachers. We are huge fans of Mr Carnine and find it impossile to believe the allegations against him.
