Mr. Carnine is one of the best teachers that my son has ever had! My son was in the classroom on the day of the alleged racist and antisemitic comments and he adamantly protests that those comments were never made. It is shameful that such an inspirational and brave teacher could be unfairly accused, punished and have his career ruined by one child twisting the facts for a lawsuit. Don't let it happen!

Mr. Carnine is an exemplary teacher who is deeply committed to his students and to teaching the values of living in a multicultural society. Mr. Steven Carnine taught two of my three children. His teaching strategies are innovative, sensitive and challenging. He requires students to think critically and independently. As a parent and a former LAUSD social studies teacher, I can only express how much I value and admire Steve as a teacher and as a person.

I know Mr. Carnine as an exceptionally stellar teacher and as a sincere, decent, and caring human being. His dedication to students learning is unparalleled. He does not deserve this kind of treatment; and I urge everyone to look at his long record of excellence before passing judgment that is based on the misinterpretation of the truth. It puzzles me how someone is so quick to sue without first trying to ascertain the truth and/or investigate the facts. Don't put muzzles on teachers who are relating historical facts that are meant to highlight the injustices people endured in history. If we can't talk about the past openly - where does that lead us in the future?

This is a travesty of justice! How could one student possibly have the power to dismantle the career of one extraordinary teacher. I'm saddened for the eighth grade students, currently missing out on a stellar education. BRING BACK MR. CARNINE NOW!

Please reinstate Mr. Carnine right away. My daughter is in Mr. Carnine’s class. She does not believe Mr. Carnine saying those hurtful words. He used stereotypes as examples to teach history but never in the context of putting down a race. She loves Mr. Carnine and is always excited to do all his projects. We didn’t know about the rally and was not able to plan ahead of time.
