My son Dane was luck enough to have Mr. Carnine. He is an exceptional teacher, caring person and we hope he can return to school as soon as possible to share his gift of teaching.

I had Mr. Carnine as my 6th grade teacher, and have never had a better teacher since. He is a fantastic educator and person; I specifically remember him condoning racist stereotypes in my class and believe that the accuser is taking his words out of context. His past merits and years of amazing work should be considered when determining the validity of these one time accusations.

I've heard he is an amazing person and teacher! This shouldnt be happening because when he said those things he meant it as what other people in the past believed in not what he believes in!!!!!

I didn't have Mr. Carnine as a teacher but I did go to his classroom everyday at lunch last year in sixth grade. I got to know him a bit and he is so nice and very witty. I don't think that he said any of the things that he is being accused of and if he did it was out of context.

Mr. Carnine should be admired and respected because he is truly one of the finest teacher that my daughter ever had. For him to go through this ordeal is very unfortunate. Mr. Carnine was explaining to the class that the racial stereotypes were wrong and are still wrong, but unfortunately they are still prevalent in today’s world. For this to be construed as his own beliefs is simply not fair.
Hopefully the investigation will conclude at the earliest possible, and Mr. Carnine will return to doing what he does best. We cannot allow our children to be deprived of one of LAUSD's finest.
