On June 6th, 2025 Disney announced that they are going to be building a new Avatar Experience in Hollywood Studios at Disney's California Adventure.

I love Avatar because during my teen years in Junior High School in 2010 I remember watching the 2009 movie Avatar for the very first time on DVD and it was amazing and it was produced, written and directed by James Cameron who produced, written and directed the 1997 movie Titanic.

I mean he nailed that movie and it not only changed movie history but he recreated of what happened on that faithful night on April 14th 1912 at 11:40PM where Titanic hits the iceberg on the starboard side on it's way to New York City and on April 15 Titanic sank during the early hours of the morning. 2 hours and 40 minutes after the collision.

I hope James Cameron will come on opening day to see what Disney is doing because they are making a James Cameron movie come to life. Just like the Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge, TN.

Next to Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout along with Marvel Land I bet Avatar is my favorite Disneyland attraction and it's going to bring back my teen years in Junior High School in 2010.

I'm very excited that Disney is going to do this but what I'm not excited about is Disney is going to build the new Avatar Experience right where Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue is because there are a lot of people on Facebook and YouTube that are not happy with this because there is everyone in their 20's and 30's along with a new generations of kids that like Monsters Inc, Monsters University and the Monsters At Work Disney Plus series on Disney Plus.

The final day of operation of the attraction will be in early 2026 and Disney needs to do something with Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue and I think they need to save the attraction and relocate it in Pixar Pier and they need to tare down the Pixar Pier Hotel and make room for expansion for Pixar Pier and build not only a brand new Monsters Land for the Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue attraction and other Monsters Inc themed attraction for the new land but they need bring back Bugs Land to be part of the expansion for Pixar Pier because they tore it down in Hollywood Studios to make way for Marvel Land.

It's the only way that Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue could be saved.

Please Keep Monsters Inc, it's my two sons favorite ride they're both autistic. We go to Disney 3 times a year, we don't like Avatar. Big mistake getting rid of Monsters

I have seen the changes in DCA from BugsLand to Marvel and it felt like it the changes where made for dads who have not grown up but need a reason to say something ok to take the kids to Disneyland. But who is still going back into a movie that is over a decade old? Monsters Inc is a magical ride that families can experience together…. Wow. I believe that was the whole reason Walt build Disneyland.

I’m a magic key holder and ride monsters inc almost ever visit (and I don’t have kids!) Hope Disney can find a way to develop the new area without losing this fantastic attraction

Relocating Monsters Inc to Pixar Pier or to the current backstage area near the new Coco attraction would make a lot of sense. We need more rides kids love at DCA, and this is a great one!

Hopefully Disney decides to keep this ride. While Avatar is an impressive franchise, its connection to Disney is more corporate. Retaining a ride based on an original Disney animated classic preserves the legacy and emotional resonance that are associated with Disney’s storytelling. Replacing the ride risks diluting what makes Disney Parks feel truly magical.
