One of the most loving and gentle pairs I know, was not only surprised but really upset to hear about them being separated. A rubbish situation caused by panic, neither jimmy or missy are at fault for this! Really unfortunate, missy is harmless and jimmy treats her so well. Will be heartbroken if you make the wrong decision. Police should approach people who've just had fits with caution, and dogs who've just experienced their owners being attacked and having fits with the right caution aswell. This is obviously a really unfortunate one off, not a result of irresponsible pet ownership.

This is all down to lack of training! Not dog training, but police training! Maybe if they'd been taught a little about dog psychology (which they should be considering how many people on the streets own dogs) then they would of known how to approach this properly. Police dive in, demand answers, cause a scene, create tension and anxiety. This would make anyone a bit defensive, no? I mean, if my dad had just been beaten up and then started having an epileptic fit in front of me, I'd be pretty defensive if all of a sudden we were rushed by another gang. Wouldn't you? The police really need to be educated on this matter. If they had of been aware of how Missi may of been feeling regarding what happened to her owner, they would have treated the situation more delicately, but they didn't and that's their fault not the dogs. Give a good dog back to a good man. Sussex police - this could all be avoided if police we're given a quick crash course in dog psychology.
