Save Millard Canyon!

JC, your bitly link only jumps over to the property developers website! It is not the overall views of the residents within a mile of this land! I think this petition accurately reflects how people view this, and that link should not be used to say it is all of the locals views! Additionally, nor does it reflect the overall impact on the environment surrounding this property. It does not have a environmental study of the effects of the construction on the habitat of the area, nor the canyon below. The site plans are not shown for the construction of the foundation, nor the pilings that have to be dug into the hillside by machinery that would have to be digging down to bedrock to put them in! No safety engineer would allow these to be hand dug so deep into the hillside!

There is a general idea that the owner of the property says they can environmentally protect the oaks on this lot. what the plan fails to consider it the root system of the trees which is as large as the tree's canopy! and in driving the concrete pilings down to meet the bedrock of the very steep slope, those root systems will be broken and the trees will loose a portion of their root system which they survive on! As an example of this sort of damage, Pasadena repaired a number of sidewalks along Marengo avenue to level out the path so people would not fall, along with repairing curbs and parking areas along the street, which was lined with many different Oak trees. This work cut surface root structures that were impacting the sidewalks, curb and street! In the few years following the work, most of the effective trees fell in the wind storms or died and were removed! Additionally, The above link, JC placed here, shows the property owners sanitized take on his project, but it fails to reflect and address the true opinions and views of the local residents on the project's development! It does not show the impact of construction on the ingress and egress to the residents and the emergency movement on such a narrow road! Construction Contractors care little for how their work impacts the surrounding areas unless it is legally impacted by authorities. If a concrete truck has to block a lane to do their extended pour, they will do it, and the traffic will have to go around it! An example of this problem was demonstrated by a film shoot in the Millard canyon that took up one lane of the road and and slowed traffic to one way only for hours until the work was over! If a emergency vehicle had to get through to put out a fire, or save a life of a heart attack victim, they would have had to use other means to handle the problems, and the possible death of one or more people! I do not think the owner of the proposed project realized the full impact of

I oppose the construction, it goes against everything the neighborhood stands for. Not making intrusive noise is already a mandate, please stop this intrusive construction (and structure). Thank you. Kristina Marrin

I spend lots of time down in Millard Canyon. It is a beautiful forest sanctuary tucked away from the Urban Sprawl. Its disgusting to me that people don't see the importance of leaving certain areas of this city raw and undeveloped. These people need to take their opportunist ways elsewhere.

I grew up hiking this canyon. It's a magical place and should remain as it is- not be destroyed to build some jerk's ugly home.

Stop construction at all costs! It is necessary for the human spirit to have natural and unspoiled land especially where the human population continually increases.

Protect the last remaining oaks on this property! If the house proposed for this site is placed on this very steep property, it will break up the tree's roots that will extend into where the foundation is and will kill the remaining trees on this property! Additionally any trees which hang over the dwelling will have to be pruned to fire prevention standards at 10 feet above the roof line and eaves. This will further damage these sensitive oaks due to exposure to termites and rot!

Save Milla rd Canyon. Developers Keep Out.

The remaining open space habitat in Millard Canyon needs to be preserved to maintain functioning corridors and this oak woodland ecosystem.

The proposed project violates Altadena Community Standards, Hillside Management, and Oak tree Protection Statutes! What does it take to STOP this type of unwanted, out of place development in this area?

Enough is enough. There are plenty of fine homes already. Keep Millard wild. Respect nature and keep the peace of the neighborhood.

Let the people have their canyon!

I moved to this neighborhood for Millard Canyon. Please don't approve any further development.

We don't need more development! We need more open space for our children and community in general!
