We, the under signed, protest the development of thehigh voltage power transmissiontower by Korea Electric Power Corporation in theMil-Yang area in Kyung Sang South Province, south Korea.

Continuing the construction with physical force against the villagers’ protest is a serious violation ofhuman rights.

Plans totransmit electricity generated from New Kori Nuclear Power Plant are extremely dangerous andthreaten the future livelihood of all human beings.To build this high powered voltage transmission towers in the name of development is destruction of natural environment.

Therefore we strongly support the villagers of Mil-Yangwho are struggling to protect their ways of living harmoniously with nature, and demand Korea Electric Power Corporation and south Korean Ministry of Knowledge Economy, who are oppressing the human rights of innocent villagers, under the disguise of public benefit development to;

1.Completely nullify alldevelopment plans of thehigh voltage power transmission tower in Mil-Yang.

2. Protect the villagers'humanand compensate the villagers for the damages that the development has caused.

3.Stop nuclear development and change south Korea'senergy policy to that ofgreen energy.

4. Ensure thatfuture developments do not injure or damage the natural environment.

I have been spending my days talking with the grandmothers who refuse to leave their land while the construction crews circle their homes. Their courage keeps me moving forward even when the silence from the ministry becomes deafening. We are documenting every instance of force used against these peaceful residents to show the world exactly what is happening in our fields.

Seeing this level of support for our neighbors in Mil-Yang serves as a powerful reminder that we are not fighting alone against these tower projects. The momentum building here is proof that people across the country realize the destruction occurring in our quiet villages is simply wrong.

How can they just ignore the people living there? These towers are monsters. Stop destroying our land for corporate greed.

Stop the construction now. Those grandmas and grandpas deserve peace in their own homes. Shame on you KEPCO.

Leave Mil-yang alone. KEPCO needs to find a better way instead of dumping their problems on the villagers.
