This design far out performs many of the towers this minster has approved. yet used Yarra shadowing as his justification when the rialto is a block down the road and 100m taller.
I smell a rat with this one.
its not everyday a developer offers back 3000m2 of prime land as a public park. that alone should allow the minister to use his discretionary powers to overrule a bit of Yarra shading.

Perfect proposal for this site. Not too tall yet architecturaly eye catching, iconic design. Ticks all boxes. Support this proposal.

I think it is a terrible shame and an indictment that not only are we going to not get a building that I believe will be an icon for Melbourne and it's progress to become a world city, but also that this decision will be denying the residents and workers of the CBD a new open space to use.

A fleeting overshadow of the river in the depths of winter, when it's usually cloudy anyway, is not a good enough reason to block such an important proposal.
