Let Maury County School Board know that this is the time to Save McDowell Elementary School with your signature of support! With a tax referendum promise of school improvements benefiting through a tax increase we supported that and saw a promise broken. Columbia is growing and now is not the time to close an elementary school. A Covid Relief check of $18 million is 'in the mail' to Maury County with a stipulation that it goes to maintenance of public schools. What better time than when the school is emptied of students and furnishings to renovate Columbia's oldest school in the heart of the Historic District and protect all the elementary age children from overcrowded schools through an inappropriate closure!
