Build toilet block elsewhere

Why close a long standing store just to turn it into a toilet? Surely it's cheaper to build a purpose built building??

70 years of hard work need not be replaced for a toilet.

Good luck with the petition. The NT should be helping the smaller businesses as they are a part of the areas history as well.

NT should start thinking about local communities and not just business plans

National trust toilets will be only for those who pay to enter visitor centre. Small independent business should be celebrated not flattened.

I am disgusted at the way national trust is treating this gift shop. I can remember going to the giants causeway with my parents and grandmother on many an occasion as a child from away back in 1958 as soon as I was walking .when there were lots of little shops down on the causeway. Shame we have to pay to visit childhood haunts.

This is real down to earth working history - the NT should be supporting it - not shutting it down.

The best shop to buy your Souvenirs. They have a great variety to choose from and they are reasonably priced. This is a family owned business. I remember being with my Mum buying from them when they where down on the Causeway. My Mum and Mr. McConaghy went to school together when they were growing up. So we visited his shop every year when we came on holiday from Scotland. Now that I live in America I still visit the shop when I'm home visiting family. Leave the family alone. They have been there for 70 years and let them keep there family business. You can build the toilets inside the center or build them some where else.

The NT are greedy robbers, dressed as those who seek to preserve landmarks. All they want to do is rip off the people who want to visit. They are over the top in terms of H&S too. You can barely walk on the stones without some orange coated oik blowing their jobsworth whistle at you. In other countries, locals who live and work in and around landmarks are respected but not in the U.K. The GC should be purchased and run as a community endeavour which benefits the community and preserves this natural and historic wonder for all people, not the coffers of the NT.
