After years of deferred maintenance, the Marquette Pool closed last summer after failing to pass inspection due to cracked and leaking underground pipes and a failed pump. Marquette Pool is one of only three free outdoor pools in the City of St. Louis and the only pool in south city. It is also the biggest and busiest pool, serving over 1,600 kids and adults who visited the pool some 9,000 times collectively in the summer of 2013.
