Such a wonderful preschool with wonderful staff, my son has settled in so well. Would be so upsetting to see it close.

This will be a sad loss to the Marple community

@D Millward, I'm not sure you're getting the point of this petition. We know Rose Hill will be providing alternative wrap around care and we'll be forced to use it. That doesn't mean we think it's ok. The pre-school/nursery will 'cease to operate' on the site of the school. This is the very reason why people use it, because of its convenient location. This is for the people who will potentially lose their jobs. It's about supporting community, and Marple Childcare were at the heart of Rose Hill. It's about people.

Rachel Machin - my sentiments exactly. Marple Childcare Pre-School is excellent and links well with the school and it's before and after school facility. It will close after April as it stands. The wrap around care has always been superb. I simply don't see why this has to change and why parents have had no consultation in this. As a working parent I do not need the uncertainty of what the new facility will be and how it compares to what we already have - and we have not been guaranteed a place but will told in future weeks how to apply.

I am afraid you are mislead, whilst we all hope that alternative premises can be sought, none suitable have been found. Regards rumors and truth, unfortunately the school have provided no definite plans as they are yet to make any. They are also yet to staff these new services on offer, do very difficult for them to promise places. The only truth so far is that Marple Childcare have been forced out of the building, and we are being forced to reapply (!) for Nursery/before/after school club places. All this from 1st April, just over 10 weeks away.

As a parent of a child starting in September I was alarmed to hear the news off a friend. However it is NOT what it seems. I've had a long conversation with someone who seemed to know a lot about it and there is no 'closure' at all and Marple Childcare will still be operating elsewhere. The school will be offering a new service and all the children will have places. As with all these things the rumours have taken over from the truth and I think we should all wait to hear the facts before making conclusions and blaming others.

The powers that be at Rose Hill school should hang their heads in shame. Both my boys attended Marple childcare and thrived. They provide excellent care. Crucial for so many parents in Marple. Glad I didn't send my kids to Rose Hill!!

pre- school education is crucial to so many families - it's part of what helps to make them all grow and prosper

The closure of the fantastic outstanding pre-school will be a big loss to the community as there will no longer be enough pre-school provision for all who want it, especially when 30 hours pre-school funding starts. It is also a great loss for those parents and children who are born early in the school year who require a pre-school place the year they turn three rather than the year before they go to school.

This preschool is a massive asset to Rose Hill. I am shocked it can be closed without consulation with all its stakeholders. It's the needs of the children, aged 2, 3 and 4, which should come first and I feel they have been forgotten about in this decision.

Disgusted how this has all been dealt. What an amazing bunch of people the team are at marple childcare with only the children's best interests at heart. I don't belive this decision is best for the children what so ever!

I have many friends who will be affected by this, it's an absolutely fantastic nursery and would be such a shame if they are forced to close, a huge loss to the community.

Very short sighted of the governors. The impact on children, staff and their families will be devastating. I fail to see how this is in the best interest of the children or in keeping with the ethos of the school. Very disappointing and it feels there is only more to come since the new head.

Disgusting late notice to staff and parents, bad management by the school but it must be saved!

I am shocked at the lack of parental consultation and notice. Mrs Honeychurch an her team are truly 'outstanding' and I am bitterly disappointed that my daughter will not be able to attend the pre-school. There will now be a lack of local 'playgroup' provision for early starters who miss the intake by days.

Marple Childcare and its staff are simply wonderful. They do a great job and should be allowed to carry on doing so and let the school concentrate on educating our children.

It would be a great loss as it is much needed. The closure of two local schools and the building of houses on the sites has increased the school age population and with working parents the provision of nursery and before and after school care is vital
