Both boys should be punished, but 45 days in alternative boot camp IS excessive. Both should have been suspended and that should be the end of it. The boys are in my prayers.

Unnecessary to go that harsh for punishment--especially since Damion has been instigating.. Sounds like Malik just got tired of it and finally retaliated..45 days in alternative school for his first altercation is going too far..

I believe it should go both ways there is a law against bullying and for that reason he should be punished as well. I feel giving him 45 days in an alternative boot camp is a bit excessive for a first offense! Young man is trying to accomplish his goals and get an education.

Doesn"t sound like there was an examination of the situation before a punishment was leveled. 45 days in an alternative school situation for a young man that has never been in trouble before... Not right nor justifiable.

No child on 1st offense should have to be sent to alternative school, especially if the person has never been involved in any other trouble. Bullying is wrong, and he shouldn't have to be punished for sticking up for himself.

I know this family very well and they all their kids the right way this punishment is wrong by all means and it breaks my heart to see the school district only punishing one kid instead of both kids. Bullying is a serious issue and the school or school districts are not doing what it right.

I feel he did his 3 days of suspension..that was enough..really what point are you trying to make..TISD knows this young man is not a troubled kid..He is very respectable..please let him back in THS
