Save Malibu Teachers

Please keep our wonderful Teachers in place as more than ever before we need class size reduction to keep social distancing and high quality teaching in place to meet the demands of our future where every child is equally entitled to a education of the highest standard as we spend money on a state of the Art new school buildings ;we must remember that the teacher is the one in the classroom that will make a difference

The school district, whose mission is to educate and care for the children, needs to make sure children and their teachers come first. I am concerned for the health and well-being of our students, of our faculty, of our schools, and of Malibu.

Keep your word.

Malibu families have been through a lot over the past couple of years. Our schools need the committed and dedicated support of the SMMUSD Board of Ed and Dr. Drati to keep our schools viable. We must make sure we keep great teachers and aides, have enough staff to make social distancing measures possible and ensure that there will be space available for students who want to attend Malibu schools on permits. Please do everything you can to support our schools during this time of unprecedented challenges.

My granddaughter deserves to have the education we were promised with the merger.

Please do not push families away from our schools. We need to know that you will not let budget issues drive decisions so vital to our school, our teachers and students.

Keep the class sizes down! The merger of the two elementary schools appears to have been a real success, I’m all for this petition.

We need this!

Please save our teachers! We need at least 2 teachers per grade level to grow!

Our children need appropriate size classes and student teacher ratios that serve their best interest. We were promised when we signed the bond and merged schools that we would have increased resources for school programming and sufficient staff. We need both our teachers and our aids to provide an appropriate education for our children, both on campus and distant learning periods. We also need staff that can help teachers and families navigate online programs and learning. The district should have already hired a tech staff member for each campus! We have waited a long time for improved campuses and not only should they be completed ASAP, the district should support ongoing enrollment of students and motivate families in malibu to stay, not leave because the district is firing teachers, decreasing programs and not providing a good education and experience for students, families and teachers! Please rectify this and do what is best for our children! The district must keep their promises and commitments to us in malibu, for each respective school in malibu!

We need this to be taken seriously!

You have to look at the big picture, give our community a fighting chance to keep our schools viable. Please, reconsider. YOU UNDERSTAND KNOW HOW DIFFICULT DISTANCE LEARNING IS - well we did that last year for 5 weeks... WE HAVE AMAZING , RESILIENT SCHOOLS but we can't stay strong under these shortsighted budget cuts.

My daughter loves Mrs. Harradine. She has sparked her interest in marine science that will last a lifetime.

In these times we need a strong educational system for our children. We cannot let it degrade. Our children are our future.

Same - Ms. Hammack has been absolutely INSTRUMENTAL to my child's adjustment to the school. Words cannot express how highly I think of her, or how much I believe the Kindergarten program would suffer in her absence. Now is not the time to lose enormously valued educators.

My daughter is in Ms. Hammack's K class and she is now reading and loves school. We cannot afford to lose such a great teacher!
