This is such a special area in the public grounds of Malahide Castle and it's just wrong that it should be sold and privatised in this way.

I lived in the gate lodge nearest the train station for 5 years with my family many gears ago and love the grounds . I have been back many times and although I think changes can be good. Enough is enough. The natural feeling of the woodlands must be kept. No development please.

There is plenty of room inside the main gate to extend the carpark. Its a park for god sake ...put in a decent path from the existing car park . people don't need to drive right up to the commercial area . There is also very adequate parking up by the pitches . once you take away the woodland it can't be replaced ... Money isn't everything .... Don't remove the trees . if you do .. Shame on you ...!!!!

The Castle and grounds need to be protected form this type of short-sighted scheme. I am also appalled at how it has been 'slipped through' the Fingal council

I feel it's disgraceful to even contemplate such an idea for a beautiful open space and in an area with so many impressionable children.

Appalling to remove a local amenity and destroy natural habitats. Fingal CoCo must seriously reconsider.

This proposal is contrary in spirit to the arrangement made in 1976 between the Talbot family and the council. The damage to trees and woodland will be permanent and access to a much loved, treasured and enjoyed area removed for ever from many Malahide citizens and those who travel distances also to enjoy the natural beauty. Older people are unlikely to use the new facility and the cost will also prohibit many. It is hugely disappointing that our elected representatives thought it ok to make this change and they need to fully account for their reasons.

Why don't they leave the grounds alone man.. it's commercialised enough. They have playgrounds, golf courses, pay parking, cricket grounds, Avoca and they make money off the malahide Castle tours so why make it worse. Cop on Fingal coco enough is enough
