If the grounds were 2,500 acres as opposed to 250 acres, I would say 'have at it'. However, the impact on the community, wildlife and grounds is too much in such a small space.
It is my understanding that whilst FCC may look after the castle grounds, they were bequeathed to the people of Malahide and as such, the people should have the final say in any proposed development to their beautiful amenity.

Please leave our park alone, it's such a luxury to have this beautiful space. It already gets extremely busy with coaches coming to visit , we do not need yet more people!

Growing up in Malahide we spent hours playing in and exploring the woods, we knew them like the back of our hands. Please don't deny my children, and other children of now and further generations the same pleasure.

I strongly oppose for any more land being taken in the grounds of Malahide castle for parking with a profit. Taking land away from the children of Fingal.

The Castle was donated to the county council on the condition that it was to be a public space... All of it.

d to leave some beautiful places undisturbed....not carved up and exploited for profit. It has far more value as it is...wild and peaceful. Leave it alone for other generations to see what woodland should be.

The proposal to construct a private forest adventure area and an extended car park within Malahide park will be damaging to the environment, including the natural ecology and wildlife of Malahide woods. It will remove access from the public to an area of Malahide park that is, as with most areas of the park, heavily used on a daily basis by a wide variety of people, such as walkers with dogs, joggers, cyclists, parents and children, tourists, as well as football teams. It will also add to the already very congested traffic conditions on the narrow roads surrounding this part of Malahide. Fingal county council is persisting in advancing this proposal even though it was rejected by its own Howth/Malahide committee, and even though its own Law Agent has advised against it.

I do not want any further commercial development in what is a fantastic place to enjoy nature with the family and it also has historical significance. I object to this development.
