Commercialism for financial gain was not the aim of the Talbot Family when they entrusted Malahide Castle and Demesne to the people of Malahide.

This can't happen! I ran through here as a child and my own children love doing the same. Please stop this from happening.

I wish to object to the proposed development of the woodland located near Bridgefield playing field and to the extension of the car park at Bridgefield.

We have to fight together to save our beautiful woodlands.the last thing we need is more traffic congestion.

I have spent 20 years walking these grounds appreciating them every day im there, it is a disgrace to even think of putting commercial buisness here, the talbots left it to the people of malahide end of story

Let’s be clear: this is a private ‘for-profit’ company establishing its business on our public grounds. Impact on you: even more traffic, less public access, an eye-sore and a lost sense of belonging in Malahide. Impact for the private profit-seeking individuals running their private business on your grounds: private access to some of the best grounds in Dublin, opportunity to emblaze advertising throughout their private leased area, opportunity to establish and expand the business over decades, access for their clients to the already crowded Malahide public transport and roads infrastructure (imagine the summer beach crowds for emphasis), and benefiting from the established reputation of Malahide until its tarnished by even more commercialism. This is not a small-scale ‘local’ amenity, it is a monster of commerce. How can we foster a sense of belonging and public ownership when a private commercial entity dominates our public space? The key to successful public spaces is to work in partnership with both public and private partners as well as the range of stakeholders who actually use the space on a regular basis: Malahide residents. We have been ignored. The Fingal County Councillors approved this without our input by a vote of 18 to 16 without accessing detailed plans of the proposal. I would like to know who these 16 people are and how on earth they have were elected by to represent our interests. Is this what the Talbot family had in mind when they passed the park into public hands? Avoca, the bicycle centre, the ‘train-car’, the concert venue, the international cricket grounds and now a ‘Forest Adventure Park’ – bit by bit Malahide Castle is becoming a commercial entity rather than a public space. Time to say ‘no more’. I respect that Malahide welcomes tourism but it does not rely on it to this extent. As a resident I feel this park should be protected from commercialism as it is a public park first and foremost.

Once again our local government show that they are unqualified to do the job by consistently make poor decisions that are not in the public interest and are not even good longterm commercial options

I am deeply disappointed with those of our local councillors who voted in favour of this proposal which will effectively transform a natural woodland into an amusement park.

Save the castle woodlands not the corrupt politicians

Our woodlands are being sold off for private gain. This must be stopped.

I fully support this petition. Malahide demesne is a treasure and this planned development sickens me. I still regularly walk the dog and run around Bridgefield.I've great memories of it as a child and teenager to. We must do all we can to prevent this .
