We already lost the 61 barracks, please let's not lose Invicta barracks as well!!

Chatham has already been closed, save these baracks, not only for the Gurkhas, but for the local people. Also Kent has enough homes, and does not have the infrustucture to support a load of new housing.

Over 200 years of military history must not be discarded so casually and without serious consideration for the 800 soldiers, service personnel and their families.
The Nepalese community in Maidstone is also very much accepted and respected.
We have also already had our fair share of "new housing" with sizeable ongoing developments on Cold Harbour Lane, Hermitage Lane and Beaver Rd and no doubt others. We don't need any more without substantial imvestment in local infastructure.

Ridiculous to shut the barracks for more housing when it has been part of our community for so long. Building more houses in the area when infrastructure is so poor, roads, schools, doctors, hospitals etc

This would be a massive loss to the town, especially when you add in the little support our wonderful Gurkha soldiers get!

If this government wants to save money perhaps MPs should take a paid cut! The closure of Maidstone barracks will be bad for Maidstone's economy, as well as destroying the lives of those who currently work there. And that's before we get on to the history of the place. They closed Canterbury's barracks, if they get away with this where next?

The soldiers who based in Maidstone are very important to the town, and the country as a whole. We should fight to keep them here, and not build more houses on the barracks site. It is great to have the Ghurkhas in the town - they are very special people!

Our army is there to protect our country.
