What right does the government have to rip the historical heart out of a town, they are kicking the ones in the teeth that keep their fat arses safe and sound so they can sleep safely in their nice warm beds.

200 years of history must be preserved. The Military have always been an important part of Maidstone, and have served not only the Country but the community, We must all stand and fight for them now.

Growing up in such close proximity to this barracks the thought of its closure is detrimental. This barracks plays a key role in the local community offering its support and services to struggling local authorities.

I am opposed to the closure of Invicta Barracks and the loss of the military presence in the town. Kent has lost much of its military and this would be a further blow. Furthermore the Brigade of Gurkhas have given much for this country and deserve to have some protection after much culling of numbers and movement following previous closures. Kent and Maidstone is their home and they should be given the security we all strive for considering their huge sacrifices to date.

I was a regular in RN and a CHATHAM rating. They closed us down and turned it into what, after 300 years of history? more homes in Kent? yes ok but do we have to have them in Medway and at the expense of our military personnel and community. ?

I totally agree that the closure of the barracks will adversely affect the service personnel and will be a sad loss for Maidstone

Maidstone Barracks has become an integral part of Maidstone. It would be both historicaly and financialy wrong for the camp to close. Many soldiers have ended up settling in the town or close area as a result of having served here. The future loss of such persons to contribute to the economy, life experience and fine standards gained in the greatest military worldwide would indeed be sad.

I am opposed to the closure of the barracks as it is a big part of Maidstone's history and the military families who will be displaced need our support. No to more housing too!!! There is already too much pressure on our local infrastructure especially doctors surgeries where waiting time to even get an appointment are shocking.

The barracks and the Nepalise community have a long and distinguished history with Maidstone and should be considered as a special case and made exempt from the closure review. As regards building houses anywhere in and around Maidstone that is a separate issue which should be fought against. Maidstone does not have the infrastructure (roads, hospitals, doctors, schools to accommodate a vast increase in population especially if it destroys the wonderful countryside that surrounds our county town.
