My opinions as a musician who plays these festivals aside: the economic factor cannot be ignored. These shows bring tremendous financial gain to our city and a downtown that needs it. Do not let the voices of a small disgruntled group impose dated, draconian laws upon us. We are a city that needs to compete with other major urban areas. Let's act like one.

People need the arts in their lives. These 7 and the politicians who are backing this decision are going to make this city go to a dark place that has NO FUN ALLOWED as its motto.

It's simply unfathomable to me that London city Council would oblige the selfish wishes of seven individuals to hamper the joy of music that has historically been shared by thousands of both locals and tourists at festivals in this city for decades! Seriously!

take the decibel reading on the front lawn of the complainers...if it's less than, say.. 50 db, tell them there's NOTHING that can be done, and live with it.

Festivals and events drive tourism, business, and create jobs. Enough said, increasing fines is ridiculous, why doesn't the city turn around and offer more funding for event organizers and businesses helping promote London?! the City of London needs to realize that it is going down the wrong path if it is trying to attract new business and keep Londoners in the city.
