I don't know the Kowel family personally but I feel their pain in my heart. The loss of a child can not be compared. I too was a victim of a drunk driver at the age of 14. I am 49 now and I live with the painful consequences because the person chose to drink and drive. Please, pass the Liam's Law. Everyone's life is precious, especially the life of a child.

I agree it should be zero tolerant. My heart goes out to the family. This should have never happened. It doesn't matter what the drunk driver receives it will never bring you baby back to you.

In the name of Liam we will make it a disgrace to drink and drive, this is def. one of my pet peeve's as far as the law goes. Every car should be fitted with a DL scanner, and every DL fitted with an alcohol level chip. And based on your alcohol level it starts or not. Once that is done weight and finger print recognition will only start the car, should you get out car turns off. Now if not for all, aft 1 DWI, must be bought and applied correctly to get DL back w chip. So many people get away with "it was an accident, had I known I never would have" shoulda, woulda, coulda, but you didn't choose to do one of many options, knowing you were drunk. Our tolerance is ridiculous. We don't care till you kill someone, time and time again it's been done. It has to stop.

I will definitely sign this petition. I lost my daughter to SIDS. Losing a child is hard, but Liam would still be here if this woman didn't get behind the wheel intoxicated.
