DEFIBRILLATORS are part of resuscitation in 2015. I will be writing myself yo the CEOs of Aer Lingus and Ryainair to ask for these to be on board all aircraft.

I had a passenger take ill on a flight I was on. I asked for O2... None available... An AED.., No... He was diaphoretic , vomiting, complaining of Chest Pain. Luckily we were near the Airport, I advised the crew that am Ambulance meet the plane. I watched him until we landed feeling totally useless.

Great initiative Caz!... but I think an appeal had been tried before but failed due to airline legislation and safety concerns with fire etc...

But crews have to be trained as well

Surely this must be a standard item of safety equipment bearing in mind the time that it would take to get a patient to medical care.

should be compulsory on planes . Issues with some Irish airlines allowing people carry their own AEDs on board , just can't find a reason why

I run a first aid training company and firmly believe that aed decision should be on aircraft, we would be happy to!train staff to support this worth cause.
