Unless the private bike shop owners are idiots, they will either hire Bill or give him a waiver to operate his repair shop. I'd bet he is no real competition to them. If they're selling high end carbons, their well-heeled customers will want to have their bikes repaired at that shop. Lil Bill can continue fixing stuff on everyday bikes without eating into their profit margin. Most LBS's have a heart. Hope this one does as well!

Please let bill stay. Please consider relocating him and his shop off campus. Consider helping him change his business structure to a Co-op, and his income as donations.

USC should have offered Lil Bill a spot in the new UV...that would've been the initial appropriate thing to do. Now someone either needs to allow him to keep his shop where it is, or make him a supervising manager of the new shop opening in the new UV.

I'm ashamed that USC would treat a member of the Trojan Family this way. In the information I receive as an alumnus, the Village revitalization has always been represented as an effort which would incorporate existing local businesses. This is obviously not happening with Lil Bill, who kindly repaired my bike on numerous occasions at reasonable cost, and the University should reassess its priorities if they want to maintain my trust in the "Trojan Family."
