USC often speaks of its dedication to the surrounding area, and now USC needs to walk the walk in terms of supporting the South LA community. That means helping Lil Bill.

This is an unethical and unprofessional action on the part of USC that harms both the community and the owners of Lil Bill's Bike shop.
I love Leimert Park and the USC neighborhood - and have been a consumer of the businesses there, the University lectures/activities open to the public and the poetry, art and jazz events. I also have had friends teaching at USC over the years. This comes as a shock at a time when our city needs unity and community - and employment - more than ever.

Do what's right. Give the man a bike shop in the village and both sides win. Sometimes you have to give a little charity back when you've been graced with abundance in other areas. It's the way life goes.

I work for USC as a consultant and I live in the community. With all the construction I've worried about the impact - this is despicable. USC, you have a way - create the will.

I really hope something works out for this man. It's a sad day when a man can't provide for his family... and I wouldn't like to see him go down that route.

I think it's shameful that a university like USC -- with a 4 billion dollar endowment and various multi-million dollar development projects in the works -- would ask this man to leave campus rather than offering HIM a space in the new University Village residential and business complex. The overall institution is by and large a disgusting juggernaut of bureaucracy and profit-over-people tactics. Seriously, this is embarrassing.

Shameful. Makes me ashamed to have attended USC. Not surprised though...
