The city should have let the tax payers decide this, they are turning Sarasota into Miami/Lauderdale.How they changed the zoning for the Vue is beyond me,it used to be a 3 story Holiday Inn & a Denney's,The rent they are charging for a beach property of like $80,000 a year is ridiculous,I was paying $ 72,000 a year on St Armand's 20 years ago for 1200 sq ft

Have been coming to Lido from the UK for long vacations for many years. My favourite place in the world, it’s unique, please don’t spoil it!

The beauty of Sarasota was that there was free parking, free access to beaches and natural beauty. That's why we moved here. I noticed in the 6 years that I live here it is becoming a metropolitan concrete jungle and we will need to pay for everything including crossing bridges...the very things I wanted to leave behind.

It is vain to do with more, that which can be done with less. The majority oppose this folly.

This would be a travesty! Keep Lido casual and beautiful!

leave the lido beach pavilion as it is. This is a public beach and should remain public and this includes the pavilion.

Why does the Commission vote to lease Lido to an operator to renovate and then operate when the Commission will not do the same for Bobby Jones? Makes more sense to do that with Bobby Jones to reduce the City's costs. But is not the right thing to do with Lido.

Lido Beach and it’s pavillion should remain a free attraction for ALL Sarasota residents and visitors to enjoy.

Please do not make it into something many cannot afford. It is perfect as it is, update the bathrooms as needed. Let’s keep the treasure we have.

I would like to see money invested in sprucing up the pool and the facilities but I DO NOT WANT privatization of the public space. I love LIDO beach but will find beaches elsewhere if this proposal goes through. This is a PUBLIC beach. The traffic is bad enough now and will only get worse when you take away parking and make access less public.

Keep Lido open for the public to use - no changes

My use of Lido Beach goes all the way back to the mid-60's. It has always been family and working class-friendly. This proposal is clearly another attempt by wealthy developers to ruin Sarasota while lining their own pockets!

I have been here for 50 years and have enjoyed lido beach. We do not need any more commercialization. I no longer go downtown, because of all the high rises and roundabouts. Please save Lido Beach for those of us who would like to continue to go there. We do not need a bar or restraint on that beach. Please let families have a place that they can enjoy without having to pay the piper.
