Sarasota is a desirable place BECAUSE it's not exclusive, and BECAUSE we don't have high rises at our public beaches or the glitzy fanfare that's made other destinations ugly. Keep SRQ beautiful, natural, and low key. We have already lost some of the charm, due to developers' and commissioners' lust for money over the good of the whole, IMHO. There is a balance to be struck between growth and keeping the environment -- the energy of the region-- pleasant and wonderful. This is the moment, right now, to make the right choices. Re-align priorities with what's gracious, wholesome, natural, peaceful and clean.

Saving the Pavilion/Casino is saving the history of Sarasota .We don't a tiki bar in a family friendly beach front area. The public beach has been here effect since the beginning of sarasota. You commissioners are trying to not just develop put change the sarasota presents to itself and the world. CUT IT OUT. GROW UP. CHANGE your own backyards and stop taking pay-offs from your fathers friends. shame on all of you.

The Lido Pavilion is fabulous! I was introduced to this great spot by my Sarasota friend. I oppose the propsed changes and want to see the snack bar and pool facilities continue on. It compliments the unique and comfortable beach character of the area.

Please keep Lido Beach Pavillion for the use of all Sarasotans and guests, not just a select few. That was its original purpose.

What happened to "The Public".
I grew up in Sarasota, my grandfather helped build the Church of the Redeemer on the Bayfront, and founded Florida Power and Light with others. This is pathetic. Not what my grandfather would have approved of. Nor do I.
