The proposed project will drastically change the appeal and the nature of Lido, creating more traffic, more noise, and most of all destroy the desirable simplicity of the present acomodations, including the snack bar,, its Sunday music sessions, its access to the pool and beach. We do not need more restaurants, bars, cars, or people on Lido. It's lovely as it is and welcoming to townspeople and families on weekends as well as to local residents like me who chose this site for its natural simplicity!.

Preserve the essence of the beach. Coming to Lido is about a peaceful connection with nature. It is our escape from the day to day and city life to appreciate and connect with the beauty of Sarasota. Turning it into a highly commercialized beach brings trouble, excess trash, noise, and crazy antics, plus the lack of responsibility for the natural environment, terns, manatees, and more. I don't want children having to navigate around a drinking facility either. There will not be a beach left if we continue to pave every inch of Sarasota. We are looking more like an over run cosmopolitan city and not the the quaint city with artistic character. I believe in progress but let's keep it in check or all of our natural areas will disappear.

I have lived in Sarasota since 1959. Lido Beach and Casino has always been a part of my life. Please keep it as is and do not develop it into a noisy, crowded elitist place.

The plan to tear down Lido Pavilion not only is a grave injustice to the citizens of Lido Beach , it is also a grave violation of their rights to have access to and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere that Lido Beach has to offer, free and affordable. The Pavilion is a wonderful historical Landmark which serves countless citizens as well as their guest as an important resource of recreation and peace. To replace it with yet another block of cement would significantly destroy the historical value of Lido Beach and transform the latter into yet another generic village of which there are already too many , here and in other in other areas of Florida. I implore you, not to change or even destroy this oasis.

It is clearly deals like this that give legitimate entrepreneurs a bad name, and creates a lack of trust and local governments because of the abuse of power.
Deals like this should be stopped in their tracks, in business owners that use such tactics, should be boycotted.

I like the Lido Pavillion just the way it is. It is very friendly and casual and I love the laid back family atmosphere. There are already many fine restaurants nearby. If it changes to a private, exclusive club, I will have to find another place to go and spend my vacation money.
