Developers desire for wealth is misdirected. The current pavilion is the "gold" because it is "Old Florida". You can not duplicate this. Old Florida is what brings people to the area. More glitz, bigger, better is NOT a winning strategy. Leave the pavilion alone.

There is absolutely no need for a late night tikibar, restaurant and $100 cabanas on Lido beach. Lido Beach is one of the only unspoiled beaches in the area. As a resident of South Longboat Key I treasure Lido. I see only greed as a reason for threatening the Pavilion and beach.

Lido beach is a sane alternative to siesta beach. Unlike Siesta it is generally uncrowned and ideal for families. Making the city’s only beach into a largely private area will be of detriment to the city’s year round residents and visitors alike. For once the city should side with ordinary people and not just the monied.

Why take away tourism from such a great area. Don't put limits on other business.

I have been a resident at one Ben Franklin Dr. for for years and have supported the Lido Beach pavilion for this period. The Pavilion needs an upgrade not a commercial replacement. I do not believe an Environmental Review of the proposed restaurant/bar would result in an approval for such facilities. Do not further contaminate Lido Beach or it’s environs. William Haines
